Samaritan Healthcare is pleased to announce that Andrew Nielsen, PA-C has joined their Family Medicine team. Whether patients have specific health concerns or need routine check-ups, Andrew provides care for patients of all ages.

Andrew’s path toward the medical field began with a childhood spent shadowing his athletic-trainer father, which nurtured Andrew’s passion for caring for others. Initially, he embarked on a career as an athletic trainer, working with football teams and physicians.

He desired a more comprehensive role in medicine, so he continued his education to become a certified physician assistant (PA-C). As a PA-C, Andrew returned to his hometown of Moses Lake—driven by a desire to build meaningful relationships with patients, while guiding them toward better health.

“What I enjoy the most about providing family medicine care is getting to know the people who become my patients,” said Nielsen. “I encourage them in their goals to be healthier, help them take steps on the path to get there, and share their joy as they begin living healthier—emotionally, mentally, and physically.”

Andrew Nielsen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Brigham Young University, in Provo, UT, and his graduate education as a certified PA-C in the Physician Assistant program at Arcadia University in Glenside, PA.

He is also a certified Spanish translator, which allows him to connect and communicate more easily with families when English is not their primary language.

When he’s not providing family medicine care for patients, Andrew enjoys being active and especially spending time with his wife and kids as a family. He’s a youth football coach, a soccer dad, a dance daughter dad, and wrangles a younger one wherever they go. You’ll also find him snow skiing on the mountain or water skiing behind the boat.
