SAMARITAN HEALTHCARE CERTIFIED TO ISO 9001 QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM BY DNV
MOSES LAKE – Samaritan Healthcare is pleased to announce they have been awarded full certification to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System by DNV Healthcare USA, Inc. (DNV). The certification recognizes their proficiency as an “Acute care hospital provider of medical and surgical inpatient and outpatient services.”
ISO 9001 is the most widely-accepted quality management system in use around the world, and is quickly gaining acceptance among healthcare providers in the United States as a foundation for their quality and patient safety programs. The successful completion of the certification process communicates to Samaritan’s patients, as well as the region they serve, their compliance to the chosen standard and their commitment to continual improvement.
“This certification is a great accomplishment and is a testament to the work that has taken place at Samaritan during some of the most difficult times in healthcare’s history,” said Kurt Kuykendall, Director of Quality and Risk Management at Samaritan Healthcare. “By successfully completing the certification process, it communicates to our patients, as well as the region we serve, our compliance to the chosen standard and our commitment to continual improvement.”
Samaritan has become the twelfth healthcare organization in Washington to achieve ISO certification as an acute care hospital provider—there are 294 ISO-certified healthcare facilities in the United States.
“At Samaritan, we are dedicated to providing the safest and most effective healthcare services possible,” said Theresa Sullivan CEO at Samaritan Healthcare. “ISO 9001 is ideally suited to the complex, people-intensive challenges of running a hospital. Earning the certification helps to energize us as a unified healthcare team, as we continue working to improve every day.”
