Whether your orthopaedic surgery is planned or unexpected, know that our surgical team is ready to care for you. Dr. Leo Chough is our on-staff orthopaedic surgeon and fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist. He has a wealth of surgical expertise in arthroscopy and joint replacement procedures, which allows patients to gain mobility and recover faster with less pain along the way. Dr. Chough is highly skilled in joint replacement surgery—anterior hip replacement, knee replacement, and reverse and regular shoulder replacement—as well as arthroscopic procedures, such as rotator cuff repair, ACL reconstruction/revision, and more.
Dr. Brett DeGooyer is our fellowship-trained orthopaedic sports medicine physician. Whether an injury or medical concern occurs in the workplace, the home, or while participating in sports or recreation, Dr. DeGooyer’s wide range of professional experience and active approach to healing provides treatments for patients of all ages when injuries do not require surgery.
Chris Stone is a physician’s assistant on Samaritan’s orthopaedic care team. Along with assisting Dr. Chough with orthopaedic surgeries, Chris provides patient care in the clinic for conditions including hip or knee pain, sprains, fractures, dislocations, joint injections, and more.
We also have a state-of-the-art HANA surgical table to position the patient’s body for orthopaedic surgery, such as an anterior hip replacement, which allows the surgeon to replace the hip through a single, short incision without detaching the muscle from the pelvis or femur. Dr. Chough has performed the anterior hip replacement since 2003 and served as a regional live instructor for other surgeons wanting to learn the technique. His expertise and experience in these procedures utilize muscle-sparing surgical techniques—leading to more rapid recoveries for our orthopaedic patients.
