Brett DeGooyer, DO, is our sports medicine doctor who joins Dr. Leo Chough, orthopaedic surgeon, on Samaritan Healthcare’s orthopaedic care team. Whether an injury or medical concern occurs in the workplace or the home, participating in recreation, or as an athlete with a sports injury, Dr. DeGooyer’s active approach to healing can help and offers a wide range of care for an injury that does not require surgery. He also provides sports physicals for injury prevention.
Dr. DeGooyer was fellowship trained as a sports medicine doctor, providing a higher level of knowledge and expertise, plus he has a wide range of professional experience in caring for athletes and patients of all ages. He is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care for patients at Samaritan—including physical conditioning, and sports physicals to asses athletes for medical conditions and make sure athletes are medically safe to participate in a sport.
Along with being our highly skilled, on-staff orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Chough is also a fellowship-trained sports medicine doctor with a Sports Medicine Fellowship with the Philadelphia’s Eagles (NFL) and Flyers (NHL) teams. He has also provided sports medicine for athletes in college sports, and both men’s and women’s pro teams.
