Lucy Cruz is an occupational therapist at Samaritan Healthcare specializing in hand rehabilitation. Using her advanced knowledge of biological science, psychology, physics, and anatomy, she treats patients with conditions affecting their hands and upper extremities, including the arm and wrist.

Cruz chose this specialty after completing an internship with a hand therapist and discovered it was fascinating and rewarding to watch patients regain function. She enjoys helping others by providing an elevated level of care through physical activity and demonstration.

As a hand therapist, Cruz’s practice encompasses helping patients achieve a greater range of motion and the ability to make precise, purposeful and coordinated movements. She is committed to developing a thriving, productive hand therapy program at Samaritan, approaching patient treatment with equal parts care, compassion, and skill.

Cruz earned her Bachelor of Science in occupational therapy and psychology from the College of Saint Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She is certified in Astym therapy, a non-invasive procedure that leverages the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

When she is not helping patients, Cruz enjoys listening to music.
