Pediatrician Dr. Jared Wortham Joins Samaritan Healthcare

MOSES LAKE – Samaritan Healthcare is pleased to announce that Jared Wortham, DO, FAAP, has joined their pediatrics team to provide care for patients from birth to age 18.

Dr. Wortham is a dedicated pediatrician with a lifelong passion for medicine. He is also fluent in Spanish, which allows him to connect and communicate more easily with families when English is not their primary language.

At Samaritan’s clinic on Pioneer, he offers well-child checkups, including immunizations, newborn assessments, sick visits, complete adolescent care, behavioral/developmental care, and more.

Dr. Wortham’s years of experience include a busy outpatient clinic, a thriving newborn nursery, as well as inpatient pediatrics service. He is passionate about helping children improve their physical, mental, social, and spiritual health—as well as providing comfort, empathy, and inspiring families to live healthy.

“I enjoy connecting and communicating with children and their families or caregivers,” said Dr. Wortham. “I ensure a comfortable and supportive environment while sharing medical information regarding a treatment or diagnosis. I’m also continually seeking ways to make a difference in the lives of children.”

Dr. Wortham earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Iowa. He attended Idaho State University in Pocatello, where he earned a Masters of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, and a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry. He expanded his pediatric experience with a residency at Akron Children’s Hospital, Akron, Ohio. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).

“I take the time to hear their stories,” said Dr. Wortham. “When I’m seeing a patient I want the patient and their family members to know I won’t jump to conclusions about their medical history or make them feel rushed during our appointment time together.”

When he’s not providing care for patients, Dr. Wortham looks forward to water sports and fishing with the family now that they’ll be living near Moses Lake, as well as mountain biking, rock climbing, downhill skiing, and hiking.
