Dr. Carter Newey Joins Samaritan Healthcare’s Pain Management Team

MOSES LAKE – Samaritan Healthcare is pleased to announce that Carter Newey, DO, has joined its Pain Management team.

Dr. Newey is a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (also known as Physiatry).

Dr. Newey’s non-surgical, holistic, and patient-centered approach is for those whose function may be limited by often-painful or debilitating musculoskeletal or neurologic conditions. Depending on patients’ needs, management may include nerve and muscle testing (electrodiagnostics), musculoskeletal ultrasound, injections (joint, botulinum toxin, or trigger point), manual therapy, outpatient rehabilitation (physical, occupational, or speech therapy), medications, and more.

“I’m here to partner with my patients toward reaching their goals. Whether managing pain, weakness, or physical disability, it’s key that I begin by listening and relating to them,” said Dr. Newey. “By building quality patient relationships over time, I can provide continuity of care and walk with them on their journey to better function and health.”

Dr. Newey earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree at the University of North Texas Health Science Center – Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (Fort Worth, TX). This was followed by a Preliminary Internal Medicine intern year at Medical City Weatherford (Weatherford, TX) and residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (Columbus, OH). rior to medical training, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University (Provo, UT).

Dr. Newey collaborates with other providers and therapy teams to create treatment plans that help his patients achieve a higher quality of life. He also speaks Spanish fluently which helps cross language barriers for some patients.

When he’s not providing care for patients, Dr. Newey enjoys spending time with his family, with activities including board games, sports, camping, and skiing.
