Samaritan Named Top Hospital for Maternity Care Access
MOSES LAKE, WASH. — Samaritan Healthcare was recently recognized as one of the best hospitals for maternity care access by U.S. News & World Report.
Each year, the publication recognizes the best hospitals in the nation for various specialties, including maternity care. This year, U.S. News & World Report also recognized more than 100 hospitals offering vital services in what may otherwise be a maternity care desert.
Samaritan was designated a Maternity Care Access Hospital for providing access to essential maternity care services in the Moses Lake region. Areas which improved the hospital’s standing include access to childbirth classes, private rooms or suites, allowing for overnight partner stays post-delivery, and the ability for midwives to attend births.
“This recognition honors our dedicated healthcare providers and exceptional Samaritan professionals who consistently work together to serve our patients and community,” said Theresa Sullivan, Samaritan Healthcare CEO. “We are excited to celebrate this achievement with our teams and community!”
For the 2025 edition, an all-time high of 817 hospitals submitted maternity data for evaluation. Samaritan was one of 11 hospitals recognized in Washington State, and was the only public hospital district to receive the award. These public rankings assist expectant parents, in consultation with their doctors, in making informed decisions about where to receive maternity care for uncomplicated births.
“With a record-breaking number of hospitals evaluated, U.S. News’ 2025 Best Hospitals for Maternity Care ratings represent the most comprehensive resource yet for expectant parents,” said Jennifer Winston, data health scientist at U.S. News, in a press release.
