Dr. Derek Mitchell is a specialist in Interventional Pain Management at Samaritan Healthcare and is double board-certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He completed an Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship, which increases the expertise he brings as a pain management physician.

“I especially enjoy being able to establish continuity in providing care for patients,” said Dr. Mitchell. “This leads to greater success in improved function and it benefits their quality of life—often restoring function for them to regain the ability to return to previously enjoyed hobbies.”

Dr. Mitchell is highly skilled in treatments that include fluoroscopic-guided interventions, ultrasound-guided injections, radiofrequency techniques, Botox injections for migraines, and more.

“I thoroughly discuss pertinent findings and records with my patients to ensure they are well informed,” said Dr. Mitchell. “I present various reasonable treatment options and help them decide which option suits them best.”

When he is not providing care for his patients, Dr. Mitchell enjoys outdoor activities with his family, from fly-fishing, hunting, and camping, to ATVs and motorcycles. His goal is to have a hobby farm, write a sci-fi fiction book, and retire as Jeremiah Johnson.
