Clark Dalton is our full-time, on-staff speech pathologist. As a speech-language pathologist, Clark sees patients in the hospital, as well as in the clinic on an outpatient basis. He mainly provides care for those 18 and older, however, there are circumstances when a younger patient may be seen for medically necessary therapy.

As a speech pathologist, Clark provides care for a variety of conditions, ranging from vocal pathologies and swallowing difficulties to speech, language, and cognitive-communication deficits after neurological trauma or degeneration. He is certified in the instrumental assessment of swallowing for flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) and Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSIMP). He is a certified provider of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) to treat swallowing impairment. He is certified in LSVT LOUD for the treatment of Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases.

“I especially enjoy seeing the changes in my patients as they begin to improve,” said Clark. “They are so excited to be able to communicate in ways they thought had been lost to them forever. They are often surprised that a speech pathologist can assist them with treatments that they may not have known about before their appointments began.”

Clark is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English sign language to assist communication for those who need those services. He is also fluent in smiling.

When he’s not assisting patients, Clark and his family enjoy day trips to explore the area, living-room dance parties, and participating in community theatre—mainly musicals.
