April Luft was appointed Chief Nursing Officer in June 2025 and is responsible for the direct oversight of Care Management, Pharmacy, Quality & Risk, as well as all Nursing Units including Emergency Department, Medical Surgical, Intensive Care, Mother & Baby, and Surgery. With over two decades of progressive nursing and healthcare leadership experience, April’s commitment to operational excellence and compassionate, evidence-based care has resulted in recognized quality performance, successful accreditation surveys, and meaningful improvements in clinical outcomes. Prior to initially joining Samaritan as the Quality Director in April 2025, April served as Director of Quality and Clinical Operations Manager at Intermountain Health in Billings, Montana, where she oversaw hospital-wide quality and safety initiatives, including culture transformation projects, regulatory compliance efforts, and innovative patient safety strategies grounded in high reliability and Just Culture principles. April holds a Master of Nursing from Montana State University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is a certified Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), and a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS).
