Andrew Nielsen’s path toward the medical field began with a childhood spent shadowing his athletic trainer father, which nurtured Andrew’s passion for caring for others. Initially, he embarked on a career as an athletic trainer, working with football teams and physicians.

As his interest in medicine grew, Andrew desired a more comprehensive role in medicine, so he continued his education to become a certified physician assistant (PA-C). As a PA-C, he returned to his hometown of Moses Lake and joined the Family Medicine team at Samaritan Healthcare—driven by a desire to build meaningful relationships with patients, while guiding them toward better health.

Because each patient’s needs are unique—ranging from specific health conditions to routine check-ups—he takes a personal approach while addressing the root causes of their health concerns. He is known for being genuine, personable, and straightforward—always working in the patient’s best interests.

Andrew finds fulfillment in helping patients experience personal victories in achieving their health goals and overall well-being as measures of success. He is also fluent in Spanish, which allows him to connect and communicate more easily with families when English is not their primary language.

When he’s not providing family medicine care for patients, Andrew enjoys being active and especially spending time with his wife and kids as a family. He’s a youth football coach, a soccer dad, a dance daughter dad, and wrangles a younger one wherever they go. You’ll also find him snow skiing on the mountain or water skiing behind the boat.
