Elective Patient Care Services Have Been Postponed Until April 1st
At this time, elective procedures and services scheduled at Samaritan Hospital or Clinics have been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. Over the coming weeks, Samaritan Leadership and physicians will continue to evaluate the need to further postpone services. However, urgent and emergent surgeries and other services will remain intact and operate as normal.
For patients that have a procedure or service scheduled at Samaritan in the coming weeks, they will be contacted directly by a member of the Samaritan team.

Samaritan Healthcare is dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives through the care we provide—including offering state-of-the-art orthopaedic care and surgery conveniently close to home. Our team approach to orthopaedic services makes it easier to schedule an appointment and increases the level of care provided to patients.
Dr. Leo Chough, Orthopaedic Surgeon
Leo Chough, MD, is our on-staff orthopaedic surgeon and fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist. He has a wealth of expertise in arthroscopy and joint replacement procedures, which allows patients to gain mobility and recover faster with less pain along the way. Dr. Chough is highly skilled in joint replacement surgery—anterior hip replacement, knee replacement, and reverse and regular shoulder replacement—as well as arthroscopic procedures, such as rotator cuff repair, ACL reconstruction/revision, and more.
Dr. Brett DeGooyer, Sports Medicine
Brett DeGooyer, DO, is our fellowship-trained, sports medicine physician. Whether an injury or medical concern occurs in the workplace, the home, or while participating in sports or recreation, Dr. DeGooyer’s active approach to healing can help. He has a wide range of professional experience in caring for patients of all ages with injuries that do not require surgery. Dr. DeGooyer is also fluent in Spanish, which allows him to connect and communicate with more patients.
Chris Stone, Physician's Assistant
Chris Stone is a physician's assistant on Samaritan's orthopaedic care team. Along with assisting Dr. Chough with orthopaedic surgeries, Chris provides patient care in the clinic for conditions including hip or knee pain, sprains, fractures, dislocations, joint injections, and more.
Samaritan also has a state-of-the-art HANA surgical table to position the patient's body for orthopaedic surgeries, such as an anterior hip procedure, which allows the surgeon to replace the hip through a single, short incision without detaching the muscle from the pelvis or femur. Dr. Chough has performed the anterior hip procedure since 2003 and served as a regional live instructor for other surgeons wanting to learn the technique. His expertise and experience in these procedures utilize muscle-sparing surgical techniques—leading to more rapid recoveries for our orthopaedic patients.
