Our Samaritan community welcomes Dr. Leo Chough, our on-staff orthopaedic surgeon and fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist. Dr. Chough has a wealth of surgical expertise in arthroscopy and joint replacement, which allows patients to gain mobility and recover faster with less pain along the way. He is board-certified and recertified in general orthopaedics, as well as subspecialty certified and recertified in sports medicine—revealing his dedication to refining his surgical skills through
continuing medical education, extra testing, and case review.
Dr. Chough has instructed surgeons in the state-of-the-art, anterior hip replacement technique and he has gained years of training and experience—from the East Coast, the Upper Midwest, and the Pacific Northwest, to a sports medicine fellowship with Philadelphia’s Eagles (NFL) and Flyers (NHL). Now Dr. Chough is thrilled to be joining Samaritan.
Dr. Chough is highly skilled in joint replacement surgery—anterior hip replacement, knee replacement, and reverse and regular shoulder surgeries— as well as arthroscopic procedures, such as rotator cuff repair, ACL reconstruction/revision, and more.
His expertise and experience in these procedures
utilize muscle-sparing surgical techniques, leading
to more rapid recoveries for patients.

Dr. Chough has always been committed to refining and perfecting the best surgical solution for anterior hip replacement so his patients would recover faster, with the least amount of pain, and fewer complications. He has successfully performed anterior hip surgeries for more than ten years, and his hip and knee replacement work was awarded 5-Star Certification by HealthGrades.
Sports medicine for Moses Lake’s active and aging population.
Dr. Chough has always loved and participated in sports. When his sports interests turned toward orthopaedic medicine, it culminated in a Sports Medicine Fellowship with Philadelphia’s Eagles (NFL) and Flyers (NHL) teams. He has also provided sports medicine for athletes in college sports, men’s pro soccer (Philadelphia Kixx and Tacoma Stars), and women’s pro basketball (Philadelphia Rage), among others.
Dr. Chough’s orthopaedic board certifications, plus his sports medicine fellowship and certifications, mean he is well qualified to care for the orthopaedic and sports medicine needs of athletes and residents in the Moses Lake area.
