Patient Financial Assistance

Samaritan offers financial assistance under its Financial Assistance policy to eligible patients unable to pay for emergency or other medically necessary care.

“Samaritan” includes Samaritan Hospital, Samaritan Clinic on Pioneer, and Samaritan Clinic on Patton.

Are you eligible?

Samaritan provides financial assistance for any patient/guarantor whose gross family income is up to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and adjusted for family size after any third-party coverage has been exhausted.

Sliding Scale

0% – 200% of the FPL will receive a 100% financial assistance discount

201% – 250% of the FPL will receive a 75% financial assistance discount

251% – 300% of the FPL will receive a 50% financial assistance discount

301% – 400% of the FPL will receive a 25% financial assistance discount

What is not covered?

Elective or cosmetic services; such as sterilization procedures, sports physicals, Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals, employer-required screenings, Durable Medicaid Equipment (DME), charges denied by insurance as experimental or investigational, vaccines for travel, elective circumcision, non-urgent services in which a signed waiver is obtained prior to service, non-urgent services when Samaritan is out of network for your insurance plan, healthcare services billed by other organizations or providers other than Samaritan, and any other service(s) determined to be “not medically necessary” by a health insurance plan.

How to apply

To determine your eligibility for financial assistance, you will need to complete an application and provide certain supporting information to verify your household income.

A patient, family member or anyone involved in the patient’s care, including your Samaritan provider, may help you apply for financial assistance.
