Call for Artists

Samaritan Healthcare – Moses Lake is actively seeking local artists working in all styles and media, including paintings on paper and canvas, dimensional work, murals, drawings, photography, sculpture, basketry, pottery, carvings, and weavings. Artwork will be chosen by the Artwork Committee, who are charged with selecting works of high quality and diversity of expression for the new hospital. This collection will emphasize works that evoke the essence of nature, encompassing themes of water, earth, and sky. These elements are intended to offer a distinctive perspective on the artistic experience within a therapeutic environment.

Eligibility

All styles and media will be considered for purchase. Some artwork will be commissioned.

Selection Process

A panel will oversee the selection process directly from submittals via websites, files, flash drives, photographs sent in. The artists whose works are selected for purchase or commissions will be notified in August 2025.

Selection Criteria

Panel decisions are based on:

  • Artistic merit
  • Appropriateness for public setting and healthcare environment
  • Artist and artistic diversity in the collection

Deadline

Materials must be emailed to Chris Newstead cnewstead@telaart.com or sent to the Tela Art Resource office (Attention: Chris Newstead ) at 15030 NE 95th St Redmond WA 98052 by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025. Postmarks are acceptable as proof of meeting deadline.

  • Images of work
    • Files or photographs must be labeled with artist’s name, title of artwork, size, medium and price range. Links to websites also welcome.
  • Artist Statement
    • The artist statement, no more than two paragraphs in length, should articulate the rationale that drives you as an artist.
