Laboratory
Laboratory testing plays an important role in health care. The success with which we are able to provide accurate and useful results is dependent upon teamwork and mutual understanding.
We take pride in customizing our local services to meet our clients' needs and strive to take approaches to decrease turnaround time for laboratory test results. Quality is maintained by extensive use of quality control materials, proficiency testing and quality assurance monitoring combined with professional review.
We are proud of our staff. These physicians, certified technologists, technicians, laboratory assistants, phlebotomists and support personnel are a local resource.
Samaritan Lab is committed to providing outstanding quality and excellent service through leading-edge technology. A very comprehensive proficiency and quality control program is in place to ensure accuracy of all testing and to monitor turnaround times. We are inspected and accredited by:
- The College of American Pathologists.
- The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services.
Our lab is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Its around-the-clock staff performs a full-range of routine and specialized laboratory tests. Most tests are run daily with results available within twenty-four (24) hours.
Direct access: – Lab tests you order for yourself
Direct-access testing is offered for those who want to obtain testing as a wellness monitor or do not see a health care provider on a regular basis. If your insurance or Medicare coverage does not pay for your test or if you want testing for a personal condition, direct access gives you the freedom to request those tests when you want them, on your schedule.
No doctor’s order is required, and results are sent directly to you. You are encouraged to share those results with your health care provider.
To have your tests done, simply come to the Samaritan Hospital Laboratory at 801 E. Wheeler Road and ask for Direct Access Testing. You will choose what tests you want, pay your fee and have your blood drawn. Your results will be mailed to your in two to four business days.
Direct Access is available from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Payment is due at time of service. Exact cash or credit cards are accepted.
Available tests are:
- Basic Panel—$25.00 Includes a chemistry panel and a lipid profile.
- TSH—$30.00 Thyroid screening.
- PSA—$30.00 Prostate Specific Antigen.
- CBC—$10.00 Complete Blood Count.
- A1C—$15.00 Glucose.
