Visiting
Visitors can be good medicine for patients; family members and friends are welcome to visit. However, patient care is our primary concern at Samaritan Healthcare and in order to ensure the highest quality of care, specific visiting hours and regulations have been established.
General visiting hours
10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Any visitor after 8:30 p.m. will need to check in with Security, at the emergency department admitting desk to sign in and get a visitor’s badge.
Emergency department
Visitors are limited to two per patient. Visitors are asked to stay in the appropriate patient room to maintain confidentiality for all patients. Visitors may rotate in and out of the room to see particular patients.
Special care unit
Visitors in patient rooms may be limited to two visitors at a time.
Mother and Baby Unit
Visitors in the Mother and Baby Unit must be free of communicable diseases. In addition to regular visiting hours, specially designated visitors permitted to visit from 8:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. will be required to wear approved visitor badge during those hours.
Food and Dining Options
Nutrition services is responsible for providing healthy, nutritious meals for our patients and visitors.
Overlook Café
The Overlook Café is located on the first floor of the hospital. The café offers a selection of hot food during mealtimes as well as a salad, soup and sandwich bar and desserts all day. The café is open:
seven days a week from 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Espresso D’Lite
Our coffee bar is located just inside the main hospital entrance Monday through Saturday except for federal holidays, from 6:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
Vending machines
Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located on the first floor, by the Overlook Café entrance, and in the emergency department waiting area. They are available 24 hours a day.
Gift Shop
The volunteer-run Well Wishes Gift Shop is open daily, and hours vary. They have a wonderful selection of gifts, cards, candy and fresh flowers. Should you need flowers when the gift shop is closed, the admitting office can assist you with your purchase. The Gift Shop phone number is (509) 796-5606, ext. 9628.
Meditation Chapel
A meditation chapel is located just off the main lobby on the first floor. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel for prayer and quiet reflection.
Masto Health Library & Education Center
The Masto Health Library, located on the fourth floor of Samaritan Hospital, is open to the public and offers access to free health-related information. The library includes four computer stations with internet access. Books and videos on a variety of subjects are also available and can be reviewed in the library or checked out, free of charge.

Internet Café
Located on the first floor, next to the Overlook Café, the Internet Café offers a casual, comfortable atmosphere. You may choose to sit and relax in an overstuffed leather chair, surf the Internet on one of our public use computers or enjoy a bite to eat from our hospital cafeteria. The Internet café is open seven days a week, from 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m.
