Employees treated at Samaritan Occupational Medicine return to receive follow-up care
from the same medical physician. This ensures continuity of care for the patient and a
continuing emphasis on your business concerns. Employees who are initially treated through
the Samaritan Healthcare emergency department may return to the Occupational Medicine for
follow-up care.
What is Occupational Medicine?
Samaritan Occupational Medicine offers a variety of services to its customers with the goal of
injury and illness prevention, health maintenance and early rehabilitation when injuries
and/or health problems occur in the workplace.
Our highly trained professionals treat employees with work-related illness or injuries in
an efficient, economical, convenient way. The benefit of an occupational medicine
specialist is that they have specialized training in this highly specific area of medicine.

Goals of Occupational Medicine

Medical Director, Dr. George Monlux, M.D. is a Mentor for the Comprehensive Occupational
Education and Health (COHE) Program. COHE is a partnership with the business, labor and
health care communities. The COHE concept was developed by business and labor with the
assistance of the State of Washington’s Department of Labor and Industries (L&I). The
goal of COHE is to improve services for injured workers in order to reduce their disability
and provide appropriate return to work.
